Law Enforcement Agency Identifiers Crosswalk Project

The Bureau of Justice Statistics has for many years sponsored the development of a series of databases known as the Law Enforcement Agency Identifiers Crosswalk. The most recent of these databases was created in 2005. These databases provide information about each of the law enforcement agencies in the United States and were created to facilitate a linkage between these law enforcement agency data and other data about these jurisdictions such as census data. This project is proposed in response to a request for proposals regarding the creation of an updated data base in this series that would provide linkages to additional data sources and thereby increase the value and utilization of these important data.
