This renewal is to continue a partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to enhance the availability of the data it collects on intercollegiate athletics for the broader research community. The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) will perform the following set of activities for the Association: a) the acquisition, preservation, processing, and dissemination of four NCAA data collections including their preparation for online exploration and analysis; b) a formal affiliation with the Association through an Associate membership in ICPSR; c) development of a separate NCAA Web page at ICPSR, linkable from the NCAA Web site; d) provision of periodic reports to the NCAA regarding data usage; and e) assistance, as appropriate, to a new Data Disclosure Review Committee that the NCAA will establish to review their datasets prior to release.
