This renewal seeks to continue a partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to enhance the availability of the data it collects on intercollegiate athletics for the broader research community. This project will provide data preparation and archiving services to the Association from March 1, 2015 through February 29, 2016. The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) will perform the following set of activities for the Association: a) the acquisition, preservation, processing, and dissemination of four NCAA data collections including their preparation for online exploration and analysis; b) a formal affiliation with the Association through an Associate membership in ICPSR; c) development of a separate NCAA Web page at ICPSR, linkable from the NCAA Web site; d) provision of periodic reports to the NCAA regarding data usage; and e) assistance, as appropriate, to a new Data Disclosure Review Committee that the NCAA will establish to review their datasets prior to release.
