The Center for Advancing Research and Solutions for Society (CARSS) at the University Michigan and the Institute of Human Development and Social Change (IHDSC) at New York University are co-sponsoring a conference to be held September 29-30, 2010 in New York City. The conference title is ? Improving Low-Income Children?s School Readiness: New Perspectives on an Enduring Challenge. We are working toward a scalable intervention. The conference is a step toward that goal. This conference is being held as part of a larger collaborative program of education focused intervention and intervention research called School Reform and Beyond (SRB).
The activities of the conference will be presentations and discussions held over the course of one full and one partial day.
The expected outcomes are (1) interrogation and evaluation of representatives of candidate interventions on potential for synergy, and (2) movement toward a consolidated intervention design.
