Susan Murphy named Distinguished University Professor

Susan Murphy was one of eight faculty members honored as Distinguished University Professors by the U-M Board of Regents on July 17, 2014. Her appointment begins Sept 1 and she will give an inaugural DUP lecture highlighting her work sometime in the next two years.

Sarah Burgard and former PSC trainee Jennifer Ailshire win ASA award for paper

The Sociology of Population Section of the American Sociological Association has awarded its Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship in Population to Sarah Burgard and Jennifer Ailshire for their recent paper on gender and sleep in the American Sociological Review. The award recognizes an outstanding published article in demography or population studies.
