In an analysis of PSID data on more than 3,000 children ages 10-17, Frank Stafford found boys spend about 30% less time than girls doing household chores, and yet girls are 15% less likely to get paid for these chores. These, and similar findings cited here, suggest systemic gender discrimination in wages that begins in childhood.
