A study released Monday from the University of Michigan says meditation before seeing the doctor helps patients listen and understand health messages better. The research revealed that meditation produced “positive, low arousal affect,” causing patients to remember more pieces of information.¶¶¶”A negative affect drives attention away from unpleasant or threatening information,” said Allison Earl, assistant professor of psychology and study’s co-author.
