In a report analyzing the millennial generation’s educational attainment, home ownership, marital status, population size and growth, diversity, and poverty levels in America’s 100 largest urban areas, Metro Detroit’s millennials scored “kind of in the middle,” according to author William Frey. The characteristics of the millennial generation (born 1981-1997) are particularly important given the group’s predominant size, especially among working-age Americans, its racial/ethnic diversity, and its voting power.
