Preventing violence and aggressive behavior in children and adolescents using interactive media instruments: an international research project (PREVAMI)

Brad J. Bushman (subcontract Co-PI) will collaborate with Georges Steffgen (PI) and Andre Melzer (PI) to conduct the research described in the University of Luxembourg grant proposal entitled, ?Preventing violence and aggressive behavior in children and adolescents using interactive media instruments: an international research project (PREVAMI)? submitted from the Research Unit INSIDE, axis Anger and Aggression in Social and Organizational Contexts (AASC) with Georges Steffgen and Andre Melzer as Principal Investigators. Bushman has been involved in major phases of the design and preparation of this proposal. Since 2005, Bushman has taking part in publications and conference presentations emanating from previous joint research with the AASC at the University of Luxembourg and Andre Melzer (who was then at the University of Luebeck, Germany). During the three years of the project period, Bushman will collaborate significantly in the implementation of the various activities planned in the service of the specific aims of the investigation. This will include, but not necessarily be limited to, a number of different tasks. Specifically, Bushman will direct the design, programming and testing of experiments. Bushman also will assist PIs Steffgen and Melzer in preparing proposals for Institutional Review Board review; locating and recruiting of study participants; developing and managing project data sets; coding and preparing of raw data for analysis; and analyzing and disseminating data collected during the course of the project. Bushman will participate actively via teleconference and through periodic trips to the Universite du Luxembourg in project meetings with the full team.
