ICPSR will maintain the PreK-3rd Web site, this includes keeping the site live and making technology updates to it as ICPSR updates its systems. We will provide users of the PreK-3rd data with ongoing user support, providing researchers with technical and substantive assistance via email and phone, available 8-5 EST Monday through Friday. To guard against accidental destruction of any of the PreK-3rd materials, ICPSR staff will create security copies of all archived materials. ICPSR continually reviews and ?refreshes? both the media and the storage format of all collections it archives. Staff ?migrate? data from one medium to another on a periodic basis. In addition, we convert the storage format of any collections deemed to be ?at risk? when those formats are no longer supported in current software packages, or do not easily lend themselves to conversion by individual researchers. There are no direct costs associated with these processes.
