National Archive of Criminal Justice Data – University of Michigan Archive Services

NACJD is currently located at the Inter-University Consortium of Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan and is a national resource for secondary data and other information from research funded by NIJ. As part of the NIJ Data Resources Program established in 1982, the mission of NACJD is to provide assistance, training, and support services in the acceptance, preparation, documentation and dissemination of data from NIJ research.

As part of this continuation agreement, NACJD will concentrate efforts on two tasks: Archiving and External Relations. For Task 1, NACJD will continue to process and preserve data collections with a focus on reducing the backlog of data files submitted for archiving as well as special processing of data resulting from the first National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey through the provision of extra, temporary staff for these purposes. Related to Task 2, External Relations, NACJD will assist NIJ in program development and planning for the future of the archive. Other traditional tasks such as production of summer program data workshops will no longer be included as tasks under this agreement.
