The Decennial Census Linkage Project will link individuals? records from the 1960 through 1990 censuses and create tools to improve the dissemination of these data. DCL builds upon a related project that is recovering respondent names from microfilmed census records over this period. When combined with already-available linkages between the censuses of 1940, 2000, 2010, and soon-to-be 2020, DCL will complete a massive longitudinal data infrastructure covering almost the entire U.S. population since 1940.
