ICPSR is uniquely resourced to build a thematic data archive for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) that has the capacity to support research about how the public interacts with the arts communities in the United States. ICPSR has built thematic archives for a number of government agencies and private foundations and maintains numerous thematic data archives currently. ICPSR has an established infrastructure that allows for a thematic archive to be built mainly with investing in web design and adding data into the archive as is described in the application. The underlying infrastructure, operations, and processes of ICPSR allow a thematic data archive to be built with only a modest additional investment. ICPSR has the experience and underlying infrastructure to successfully accomplish Tasks 1-4 described in the NEA RFP 13-13. ICPSR will build a website for the NEA data archive at ICPSR (Task 1). ICPSR will add the CPANDA datasets to the archive (Task 2). ICPSR will acquire and process 10-12 new datasets for the archive annually (Task 3). ICPSR will create a communication for the NEA data archive at ICPSR (Task 4).
