Archival of 2011 and 2012 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey Data

Funds will be used by the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) to support the data archiving of the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) 2011 and 2012 General Population Survey Raw Data. The NISVS 2011 and 2012 archiving will include producing coherent, user-friendly electronic files that are cleaned, efficiently formatted and standardized in different formats (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata, ASCII) along with associated documentation (e.g. codebooks, user guide, frequencies) and making them available to social science research community. All submitted data will be preserved for historical purposes. We consider the preservation of data in perpetuity to be a fundamental part of our mission, thus ensuring that valuable data resources are secured for coming generations for social scientists. Off-site storage of data guarantees that a copy of a data collection will always be available.

NACJD will carry out the following:
?Prepare, document, and preserve NISVS data
?Provide/Ensure Restricted Access to Confidential Data
?Provide data usage information to CDC upon request
?Incorporate references to the NISVS 2011 and 2012 data into ICPSR?s Bibliography of Data Related Literature
?Provide Technical Assistance to NISVS 2011 and 2012 data users
