ICPSR will provide data archiving services, user support, and reporting in the preparation, documentation, and use of NISVS data for secondary analysis. Archiving the data will include producing coherent, user-friendly electronic files that are cleaned, efficiently arranged, and standardized in different file formats (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and ASCII) along with associated documentation (e.g., codebook, user guides, frequencies) available to the research community through the ICPSR website. All data will be preserved for historical purposes. CDC will provide the raw data files in a timely manner so that ICPSR can meet the deliverables schedule. Additionally, ICPSR will house NISVS data in the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD), which is supported by the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs.
