This proposal requests renewal funding to support the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) archiving, dissemination, user support, training, and other supporting activities at the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD), the Nation?s resource for research data about crime and the criminal justice system. The NACJD acquires and distributes to the research, policy, and practitioner communities a wide variety of data collected by researchers, federal statistical agencies, law enforcement agencies, civil and criminal courts, and corrections departments; supplies the BJS with ready to use data files for analysis from the data supplied to NACJD and provides BJS staff with technical support for work on the reports BJS produces; and, provides the research and law enforcement community with training and support services to facilitate their analysis of crime and justice data stored at the NACJD. Accordingly, this Interagency Agreement is mutually beneficial for both the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) and the NACJD.
