The National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) proposes a plan of work for the Association of American Universities (AAU) to process and archive the Campus Survey on Sexual Assault and Sexual Misconduct.
NACJD will perform data management activities to include ensuring the completeness and quality of both data and technical documentation, producing a wide variety of standardized data formats that meet evolving digital preservation standards, and writing metadata describing the contents, origins and uses of the data. NACJD will also review the data for potential disclosure risks consistent with access via secure download to restricted data. If NACJD identifies areas of concern regarding confidentiality, it will work with AAU staff to mitigate them.
NACJD staff will administer the application process, which includes assisting applicants, ensuring applications are complete and distributing the dataset via secure download. In addition, the AAU requests that its member institutions have exclusive access to the dataset for one year. The AAU will provide NACJD with a list of its member institutions and NACJD will provide exclusive access to them.
