Do Thai Newlyweds Really Live Separately?

Contrary to a recent study published by Social Forces based on indirect data from a purposive sample from the central region of Thailand, more direct data from a large nationally representative survey suggest that, much as would be expected, the vast majority of Thai newlyweds cohabit in the same household. The large discrepancy in results is likely attributable to measurement error arising from the indirect manner in which the earlier study used to determine the extent to which Thai newlyweds live separately.
